Jon Bon Jovi was alive and well in New Jersey on Monday night, tweeting and posting a picture of himself in front of a Christmas tree with a date stamp to squash the crazy rumors that he was dead...This apparently isn't the first time that he has been knocked off, and thankfully for him it is not his last...Check out this video from the HollyscoopTV that verifies that Jon Bon Jovi's death was just a rumor...





Probably a good number of "This Crazy Life !!! 's Blog" have been wondering if WAHM Shelley had fallen off a cliff somewhere...No need to worry as you can see I am still hangin on, much like Cliff Hanger from Between the Lions...

Apparently celebrities other than Jon Bon Jovi have been rumored to have kicked the bucket including: Will Smith, Eddie Murphy, Johnny Depp, Jackie Chan, Justin Bieber and Queen of the little monsters Lady Gaga...But the rumor mill for this round of  Dead Jon Bon Jovi headlines was kicked off with some mixed up old news from a 2009 report about the very real death of Michael Jackson...

Stay tuned, because we are on the brink of 2012, where apparently according to the Mayan calendar all of us will be history...and then...The throat sighs!

"Great little netbook at an affordable price. Specs are pretty standard for a 2010/2011 netbook: 1G RAM, 250Gb HD, 3 USB ports, basic video camera, separate Mic & headphone jacks, sd card slot, vga output and a very useful 8h battery life.

There are a lot of netbooks like this on the market, but what really stands out for me on this one is the keyboard, FULL size main keys with ALL the cursor movement keys: DEDICATED up, down, right,left, PGUP, PGDN, HOME and END. I work a lot with excel spreadsheets and it is really uncomfortable to move pressing fn+end/up orf+end/down or ctrl+fn+home, ctrl+fn+end, etc. to move around. Also scrolling with pgup/pgdown while reading a long web page is a pain when you have to press also the fn key! With most netbooks you have to live with the fn key, not in this case, the NB505 keyboard is really practical and comfortable, almost like a full laptop or pc keyboard, even do the position of the keys is not standard, they let you do the work easier and faster.

I also really like the case feeling: like some very soft rubbery cover, it looks nice and grips nice!

Windows 7 Starter is really basic, but you can find programs, utilities and tips on the Internet to take care of the basic "missing features" like changing the background image, colors, sounds, re-size pictures, etc. I got rid of most of the Toshiba utilities and also Norton, and installed MS Security and my preferred freeware home edition utilities.

I would have liked to have stereo speakers, but the netbook only includes a mono speaker under the unit...."

Black Friday 2011 is less than a week away...

Major retailers are starting Black Friday deals on Thanksgiving Thursday...WalMart and Toys R Us will be opening at 10 pm Thursday night...Best Buy will be will open on "Black Midnight"...The ads are out and the race is on...Which retailers have your attention???...

Well unfortunately for Target the attention they are getting is negative press...Because one of their employees, Anthony Hardwick of Nebraska, has started a petition at change.org against working Thursday night...He's determined that he'll have to go to sleep early afternoon on Thanksgiving, instead of enjoying time with friends and family, so that he will be well rested enough to perform well on his 10-hour shift that begins at 11pm...Well over 193,00 supporters have joined Anthony Hardwick...One of the supporters, Deborah Schwartz, had this to say:

"I'm so tired of turning on the news the Monday after Black Friday and having to hear about how much money the big retailers did or didn't make. As if that's the point of our year-end holidays. I'm tired of Christmas being promoted BEFORE Halloween. I'm sick and tired of these attempts to brainwash us into thinking Christmas is about how much money we spend. Every American has the right to spend Thanksgiving with their families - its a national holiday! This is employee-abuse, plain and simple, and an threat to EVERY American worker. Target, stop exploiting your employees! (Thanks, Anthony, for creating this petition.)"



And at least 418 people agree with her view as well...And similar to how the Occupy Wall Street movement has spread, so has the sentiment of retail employees and their supporters...An employee of Best Buy in Florida, Rick Melaragni, has also started a petition and has over 10,700 supporters...Protesters are asking for shoppers to boycott any retailers that are opening before 5am/6am Friday morning, for early Black Friday related deals ...What do you think???...Will capitalism rule Black Friday again this year and the years to come???...It's a crazy situation because people need to work, jobs are hard to come by, the economy is bad and industry insiders, such as the National Retail Federation, don't really expect sales to dramatically increase, even with all the Black Friday hype, in comparison to last year, anyway...

Walter Isaacson Answers the Question, "Who is Steve Jobs?"

Google search engine has been my go-to search engine for well over 10 years...I remember when I told my husband "the tech head" about it, I felt so proud because I actually found something worth sharing before he did...Well Google.com is what I use when I want to know "how to", or "what is" for most things...Now when I need to know driving directions my go to website is Mapquest.com ...When I am not sure of the correct spelling of a word or I need a synonym/antonym for a word I use Dictionary.com ... My favorite thing to know daily is weather so I typically use Weather.com for that...Although if I want to know about international weather BBC is my choice...

Now for anyone that wants to know "who is" or rather "who was" Steve Jobs, apparently this latest biography "Steve Jobs" is all that, by Walter Isaacson...Not only did Steve Jobs cooperate in the compilation of this book, he encouraged his friends, family and colleagues to be honest...Isaacson interviewed more than one hundred folks from friend to foe and extracted content from more than forty interviews in the composition of this book...The cover photo was hand-picked by Jobs, himself... Isaaccon wrote about Jobs, "He didn't invent many things outright, but he was a master at putting together ideas, art, and technology in ways that invented the future."...Jobs' legacy at Apple, Pixar Animation Studios and beyond include iPad, iPod, iPhone, MacBook, Mac OS and my favorite movie, probably of all-time, Toy Story...I say it was pure, crazy genius in his core...

WebMail vs Social Media...Survey says...

Internet mail or email, as it is commonly known these days, has come a long way since the days of AOL's "You've Got Mail" era (Who remembers the movie of the same name?)...Well anyway, as of August 2011, Windows Live Hotmail has 360 million users, Yahoo! Mail comes in 2nd with 302 million users and Gmail is in third place with 260 million users... Those may be the numbers that advertisers and potential investors are looking at, but what about the stories behind those numbers...

Although Google may be in third place in the free email market, Google Search is number one among search engines with more than several million queries per day...FYI, Google Inc has been making some crazy moves...They acquired Zagat, the popular restaurant review guide last month and Daily Deals was also acquired in September...In April, Google acquired ITA Software, which is a software developer for the airline and travel industry...Those are only a few of the deals that Google has made this year...Google Labs officially closed its doors October 14th and that's when Google Body Browser, the Google Earth-like explorer for human anatomy moved to Zygote Body as a web application and became available for free as an Android app...Google+ (the latest challenger to Facebook) has a mere 40 million users for now...Google's moves makes me believe that their leaders are working on some sort of master plan...They apparently have a vision...

Meanwhile, the workforce at Yahoo is less than chipper these days with reports that employee moral is pretty low, following the ouster of CEO Carol Bartz...

But I wonder if Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail and Gmail are just nipping at their fingers regarding the explosive social media empire that Facebook has racked up...more than 800 million active users...That's just crazy...Its almost as many as the former three combined...And for those of you that may be wondering, Twitter has more than 200 million tweetees (I guess that's what you would call a Twitter user)...
