Give The Gift of Tasty Treats With the help of a Top-rated KitchenAid Mixer

Everyone just loves this gift-giving season for many reasons...And traditionally in most workplaces you will find folks bringing in sweet treats to share with their co-workers...Homemade goodies are some of the best things people love to sample...So in keeping with the holiday spirit, I've chosen to review the KitchenAid Professional 600 Series 6-Quart Stand Mixer...This nice kitchen gadget will come in handy this next few weeks to make your homemade dessert and bread making easy breezy...

The KitchenAid Professional 600 Series 6-Quart Stand Mixer averages about a 4.5 out 5 rating with nearly 1,270 Amazon reviewers...That's crazily amazing...What's even better is that it is currently 40% off...So instead of paying the regular price of $499.99 it is deeply discounted to $299.99 right now...

A purchaser of the KitchenAid KP26M1XNP Professional 600 Series 6-Quart Stand Mixer, Nickel Pearl had this to say:

"I have been using this mixer for over a year now. Its a great investment and well worth the price.

Pros: Good speed settings from high to low. Some mixers are too fast on low speed and too quick on high. This on one has many uniform steps in speed to mix anything you throw at it. The soft start function ensures you aren't painting your walls when you flip it on. It is a very well built machine that looks nice and has amazing power. We use a very stiff and heavy dough mix for our bread recipe and it churns out a 4 loaf batch with ease. I've never been concerned that it was overloaded or was going to overheat. I was originally going to purchase a Bosch mixer before I found this one and I'm very glad I didn't. Save your money and buy some of the great attachments that go with mixer instead. The pasta maker is way fun and works great!

Cons: 1)Sometimes it has problems picking up small batches like whipping two egg whites. I have to tip the mixer occasionally to get it to grab when the bowl isn't very full. 2)This is a heavy piece of equipment. Don't give it to your 80 year old grandmother and expect her to be lugging it from the counter to the pantry.

Over all I'd buy this machine over any other on the market if your a part time or full time cook. The well built quality and construction will last for many years. I'd also give it a 5 star rating and thoroghly recomend it to anyone looking to update their mixer."

Travel to Tiger Country for a Tailgating Time to Remember!!!

Written By Sidiq Martanto on Selasa, 08 November 2011 | 05.09

Ever thought about making a little trip down to Tiger country...The LSU Tigers, that is...Well I can tell you first hand that beautiful bayou views abound all around LSU's campus...There are beautiful magnolia trees and willows and nice little waterways or bayous where the locals go fishing...Fishing is a nice pastime, but right now it's football season down there in Tiger country...

Tailgating is what those Tiger fans will be doing before and after every game...Folks will have BBQ grills all fired up and you just might find somebody with some good ole Gumbo or Jambalaya on hand...I like my Gumbo with chicken, sausage and seafood...As a matter of fact that's how I like my Jambalaya too...Born and raised in bayou country has a sort of curse all it's own...You just love food...And for me that's the best part of tailgating or going to any football game...Hot dogs, popcorn and my favorite corn dogs...Yummy!!! ...Too bad it's not crawfish season...Cause crawfish boils are something that I'm sure all LSU Tiger fans would be doing...

Crawfish season or not, you just might be able to get your hands on a Crawfish Po-boy...Yes, indeed... Now  that's crazy good eatin there...Speaking of good eatin...You have to go by Louie's Cafe (open 24 hours)...It's right outside the gate of LSU...They have some of the best omelettes (try the seafood omelette), hashbrowns, pancakes and cheeseburgers too...Oh and the fruit salad is just to die for...Yummy, Yummy, Yummy!!!

So hurry and call your travel agent and schedule your trip via plane, train, bus or automobile...Book your flight to Baton Rouge on the airline carrier of your choice (Delta, Continental, United, US Airways or American all fly from Louisville to Baton Rouge) for the weekend of November 12th (it's the homecoming game weekend)...LSU is playing Western Kentucky then...And if that's too short of notice for you, schedule your trip for Thanksgiving weekend...LSU will be playing Arkansas on Black Friday, November 25th at 1:30pm...So after the game you can run over to The Mall of Louisiana and stock up on all kinds of deals for this holiday season...

Go to Louie's Cafe early on game day and fuel up so that you will have energy enough to hang with all those die-hard Tiger fans...You could tell them that "Shelley sent ya", but you might get more play if you told them that "Les Miles sent ya"...Now I can't tell you whether or not Les Miles has been there or not, but I can tell you one thing that if I were in Tiger country I'd be right there...Y'all go there and enjoy some good eatin for me and come back and leave a comment to let us all know that it is as I said..."It's all that...Crazy good eatin!!!"

      Recipe: Caramel Chocolate Pecan Bars...Yummy!!!

Written By Sidiq Martanto on Senin, 31 Oktober 2011 | 18.28

Anyone who knows me, knows that I LOVE chocolate, caramel and pecans...My mom and dad have a pecan tree in their backyard...But unfortunately the squirrels probably love the delectable nuts more than we do...Rarely can we get a single pecan intact...

I've always loved Turtle candies and it's hard to resist ordering the Caramel Pecan Turtle Cheesccake when I visit the Cheesecake Factory...So I am sure you can imagine my delight when I was tweeted this recipe today...Yummy...

Now if you are on a diet, maybe you should just have a little sliver...Try to at least...Crazy me would just eat as much as i could...

You can find out how to make this wonderful recipe too...CLICK HERE to get the recipe for Caramel Chocolate Pecan Bars !!!

Recipe: Whoopee Pie...as seen on The Rachael Ray Show

Written By Sidiq Martanto on Selasa, 25 Oktober 2011 | 00.49

I am a sweetaholic...A favorite recipe of ours is apple crisp...Don't worry though, cause you don't even have to peel, core and slice all those apples...Just stop by one of my all-time favorite restaurants, The Cheesecake Factory and enjoy their Warm Apple Crisp topped off with vanilla ice cream...And if you want to really go on a sugar rush, I highly recommend their Caramel Pecan Turtle Cheesecake...That cheesecake has chocolate, caramel and nuts...It's just yummy, to say the least...

Speaking of yummy, red velvet cake has been one of my favorite recipes for years...We'll make it as a cake or cupcakes...I've even found a recipe to make it as a pound cake....Delicious...One day I saw a similiar recipe unfold on Rachael Ray's show that blew my mind...It was a crazy episode...And it wasn't so much that the recipe was difficult...It was the presenter, Paula Deen...I think this was the first time that I had ever seen her and my kids and I got such a kick out of her when she said the word "oil"...At first I didn't know what she had said so we he to rewind it several times until we figured it out...Check out Paula on the Food Network...
